PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of preventing damage to a chafer of a bead section even when a low aspect ratio tire is subjected to rim-assembling or rim-removal. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire with the chafer arranged in a surface layer region of the bead section, the chafer is made with a plain weave whose warp and weft threads are a polyolefin ketone fiber cord having strength of 9.5 cN/dtex or more.
