<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the interference of a mounting head descending for disposal operation with a component which is previously disposed of in a component disposal tray when the component sucked to a suction nozzle of a component mounting machine is disposed of to the component disposal tray after the component has been determined not to be mounted. <P>SOLUTION: An area of the component disposal tray 28 is divided into two component disposal areas in accordance with a height size of the component. One component disposal area is set to be a short component disposal area where a short small component (short component A) sucked to the suction nozzle of a revolver-type head is disposed of. The other component disposal area is set to be a tall component disposal area where a tall large component (tall component B) sucked to the suction nozzle of a single head is disposed. An interference prevention area of a prescribed width which corresponds to the width of the mounting head is arranged between the short component disposal area and the tall component disposal area.
