TRANSFORMED GENUS RHODOCOCCUS BACTERIA AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING HYDROCARBON USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the viability of Genus Rhodococcus bacteria against hydrocarbons of a small carbon number by providing transformant of Genus Rhodococcus bacteria, and an effective method for decomposing and metabolizing hydrocarbons of a smaller carbon number than that of conventionally-used hydrocarbons. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method for processing hydrocarbons by allowing GroEL2 gene-introduced Rhodococcus erythropolis PR4 strain to react with hydrocarbons. The bacterial was cultured in a medium in which the concentration of inorganic salt was limited. The inorganic salt is a magnesium salt.
