PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing lightweight wood for a wood pile having buoyancy in the soft ground, and also maintaining the buoyancy even if the lightweight wood is immersed in water for a long period of time by drying it. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the lightweight wood 20, the wood is dried, and air bubbles are kept held in the wood so as to maintain low density.
