PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a surface-hydrophilized high-strength fiber yarn, capable of hydrophilizing a surface of a filament constituting a high-strength fiber yarn without lowering tensile strength of the filament; and to provide a method for producing an electroconductive polymer fiber yarn by forming a metal plating layer on the surface of the filament constituting the high-strength fiber yarn in high uniformity and adhesiveness. SOLUTION: There are provided the method for producing the surface-hydrophilized high-strength fiber yarn by forming a flat filament bundle from an oil-free high-strength fiber yarn obtained by collecting a number of filaments, and performing atmospheric plasma treatment of the surface of the flat filament bundle in an inert gas under a condition of frequency of 3-26 kHz and treating speed of 3-30 m/min; and the method for producing the electroconductive polymer fiber yarn by dipping the surface-hydrophilized high-strength fiber yarn in a supercritical fluid or subcritical fluid containing an organometallic complex, reducing the organometallic complex and performing electroless plating.
