PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorption structure having a higher reactive force and a larger energy absorption amount than ever before, and using inverted spiral type folding paper structure. SOLUTION: The energy absorption structure 10 using the inverted spiral type folding paper structure, has a minimum unit 20. The minimum unit 20 is constituted of the polygonal-column-shaped reversed spiral type folding paper structure made of tubular metallic body and having folding lines of diagonal lines 28 on side faces 26 sandwiched between polygonal virtual bottom face 22 and a polygonal virtual bottom face 24.
