The device has transport rollers convexly formed for centeredly guiding a winding material i.e. elastic bundle, to a winding spindle. The transport rollers are vertically offset to obtain smooth transport and required winding pre-load by a larger angle of wrap. Housing is divided into lower and upper housing half shells (1, 2), which are foldably connected by a hinge (3) for insertion and/or withdrawal of winding material by a winding unit. The winding unit is inserted or withdrawn after opening the upper housing half shell.
