A slide-ring seal comprises a sliding ring 1, Fig. 1, and a supporting-ring 6 having conical peripheral portions forming rolling surfaces 3, 5 for an 0-ring 4, the supporting-ring 6 being of drawn sheet-metal. A flange 7 of the ring 6 is engaged against a rubber sealing disc 8 in a recess 10 of a housing 11. In another arrangement, Fig. 2 (not shown), a second 0-ring (12) may form a seal between the recess wall and the outward facing conical wall of the ring 6. Further, Fig. 3 or 4 (not shown), a cylindrical part (16) or (20) of the ring 6 may engage the housing 11. The slide ring 26, Fig. 5, may be provided with an inner cone 27, a bead 29 of the supporting ring 23 engaging in a slide ring groove 28 to lock against rotation. |
