A flat pressure vessel, e.g. an expansion vessel for heating installations, comprises two wall parts 1 and 2 which clamp a diaphragm 3 therebetween in a fluid-tight manner, and are joined at at least one position by a fastening, e.g. a screw connection 20, which passes through the diaphragm in a fluid-tight relationship. In the embodiment described, a chamber 4 is filled with gas and a chamber 5 is filled with water, each wall part 1 and 2 is formed from a double skin 6, 7 and 8, 9, respectively, welded at 16, which have oppositely curved embossments to form cavities connected with the gas chamber 4. The wall parts are joined at their outer peripheries by a clamping ring 15. In Fig. 3 the wall parts are also joined by sleeve 21 and screws 22, and the diaphragm 3 has an integral elastic sealing sleeve 26 which is compressed when the screws 22 are tightened. The diaphragm has an annular bulge 27 to facilitate its movement. In Fig. 5 (not shown) the elastic sleeve is divided in two parts (28) and (29) which clamp the diaphragm between them. Rivets may be used to join the wall parts. The fastener may be joined to the diaphragm by an adhesive and be sealed where it passes through the wall part. Metal reinforcing rings may be placed between the sleeve parts (28) and (29) and the diaphragm 3. |
