PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fixing unit which can efficiently cool a presser without degrading the image quality and shorten the waiting time when lowering a temperature of a fixing nip, and also to provide an image forming device incorporating this fixing unit. SOLUTION: This image fixing unit has an image fixing belt 12 made free to turn, a heater 14h to directly or indirectly heat the image fixing belt 12, a pressure roller 13 disposed free to turn under the fixing belt 12 in contact with it to form the image fixing nip N, an oil applicator 22 having an oil tank 22a which holds oil O and disposed under the pressure roller 13 and partly dipping the pressure roller 13 in this oil tank 22a to apply the oil O, and an oil cooler 24 to cool the oil O in the oil tank 22a.
