PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring the remaining amount of ink which prevents the liquid level from being erroneously detected when the liquid level of the ink is detected by floating a float on which a magnet is fitted on the ink liquid level of an ink chamber. SOLUTION: The method for monitoring the remaining amount of the ink includes at least successively: the step 1 for detecting the height of the magnet; the step 2 for calculating the remaining amount of the ink based on the amount of consumption of the ink; the step 3 in which only when the height of the magnet is at the lowest standard height or lower and the remaining amount of the ink is smaller than a threshold value (for example, less than 50%), the ink is fed to an ink chamber; and the step 4 in which after feeding the ink is completed, and a specified time passes, the height of the magnet is detected. In the step 3, by the time when the magnet becomes a filling standard height, the amount of the ink to be forwarded is calculated, and by the maximum rotating time of the pump calculated from the calculating result, the pump is rotated to forward the ink.
