PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set a uniform policy in storing an image data file of an image read by a scanner function for each file server. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: an interface 13 transferring an image data file of an image read by a scanner function to a file server 3; an address book 32 having policy data including a policy in generating and transferring the image data file for each file server 3; and a control unit 21 for referring to the policy data to generate only an image data file meeting the policy data, and transferring the image data file to the file server 3 using the interface 13.
