PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which achieves improvement in productivity and also further reduction in size. SOLUTION: A frame 10 includes: recesses 10d which can accommodate both ends of a platen roller 13 when this roller is mounted on the frame; and a holding member 30 which energizes a head support 12 toward the platen roller 13 and holds the platen roller 13 by pressing a bearing 18 of the platen roller 13 accommodated in the recess 10d.
