PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a period from a time point when a valve is operated to switch the start/stoppage of the discharge of a coating liquid from the slot of a slot die to a time point when the coating liquid is discharged from the slot of the slot die. SOLUTION: A feed line 22 through which the coating liquid flows and a discharge line 31 for making the coating liquid flow out are provided to the manifold 13 of the slot die 10. The feed valve 25 for switching the feed/stoppage of the coating liquid to the slot die is provided to the feed line. A discharge valve 32 is provided to the discharge line. The slot die is arranged so that an opening 14a for discharging the coating liquid in the slot is positioned to be higher than the position of the manifold. A part 31a which is the highest position in the discharge line is higher than the connection part 13a of the manifold to the discharge line and arranged in a position equal to or lower than the position of the opening of the slot.
