PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that eliminates a glossiness level difference by reducing a temperature difference between a position of a fixing belt where heat is absorbed by a transfer material during a last revolution and a position of the fixing belt where heat is not absorbed, without impairing speediness and compactness; and to provide an image forming apparatus with the fixing device. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the fixing device that reduces temperature difference between the position where the fixing belt faces the transfer material and the position where the fixing belt does not face the transfer material to generates no glossiness level difference therebetween by including an energy irradiation means for selectively irradiating with energy the position of the fixing belt coming into contact with the transfer material at a front nip part in the last revolution; and the image forming apparatus using the fixing device.
