PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and a storage device control method for automatically selecting an optimum storage device and installing an operating system in the information processor including a plurality of storage devices. SOLUTION: When a boot process is detected from other than an HDD (hard disk drive) 121 or an SSD (solid state drive) 123, device information is obtained from each of the HDD 121 and SSD 123, priority is determined by a SATA (serial advanced technology attachment) controller 126 in accordance with the obtained device information, and the operating system is installed in the highest-priority storage device.
