The present invention relates to an absorbent containing chitosan for treating water and to a method for manufacturing same, and more particularly, to a method for manufacturing a core-shell-type chitosan bead using an anion surfactant, and to a chitosan absorbent containing the core-shell-type chitosan bead for treating water. Compared with typical alkaline gelated chitosan beads, the chitosan absorbent of the present invention may remarkably improve the efficiency of removing contaminants from water, to meet water treatment goals and to reduce costs. In addition, due to the excellent ability of the chitosan absorbent to absorb various contaminants, it may contribute greatly to processes for removing and separating contaminants from water which are employed by a wide range of water treatment industries and chemical industries.
