A stent (1) for placement in a living body is a stent formed in a substantially tubular shape. The stent (1) is provided with: wave-like struts (3, 4) extending in the axial direction from one end side to the other end side of the stent (1) and arranged in the circumferential direction of the stent; and connection struts (5) for connecting adjacent wave-like struts (3, 4). The adjacent wave-like struts (3, 4) are provided with proximate sections and distal sections. The connection struts (5) connect the proximate sections of adjacent wave-like struts (3, 4) to each other and each have at the center thereof a bend section (51) extending in the axial direction of the stent.
