<p>The process for storing a cast motor vehicle component (10) having a curved shape with areas of different wall thickness during heat treatment subsequent to casting, comprises determining a storage position of the vehicle component in the geometric deformation of the component as a result of heat treatment from a number of storage positions of the component by mathematical determination, where the mathematical determination of the storage position is originated with three support points, in which the component is stored. The process for storing a cast motor vehicle component (10) having a curved shape with areas of different wall thickness during heat treatment subsequent to casting, comprises determining a storage position of the vehicle component in the geometric deformation of the component as a result of heat treatment from a number of storage positions of the component by mathematical determination, where the mathematical determination of the storage position is originated with three support points, in which the component is stored. A first storage position is determined as a storage position for suspending the component, and two further storage positions are determined as a storage position for supporting the component. The first storage position (22) is selected from the areas of the component, which are provided for break-through implemented after the heat treatment. The process further comprises introducing a clearance hole (16) for suspending the component on the first storage position by reaching a limit of three translational degrees of freedom of the component, and supporting the component on a second storage position (24) by reaching a limit of two degrees of rotational degrees of freedom of the component. The determination of the storage position is carried out by selecting the storage position of the motor vehicle component, providing each of a finite-element-model for the characterization of the motor vehicle component for each storage position and performing finite-element-analysis using the models to determine the storage position of the motor vehicle component from the storage positions. An independent claim is included for a device for storing a cast motor vehicle component.</p> |
