<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of providing stable high image quality with low power consumption, by preventing the fixing of toner through the use of a configuration such that the heat release efficiency of a developer regulating member is increased, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a developer carrier which carries a developer having a toner and a carrier on a surface thereof and is rotated to supply the developer to a latent image on the surface of a latent image carrier, at a place where the developer carrier faces the latent image carrier, to develop the latent image; a developer-regulating member vertically arranged, in such a state that the regulating end surface of the developer-regulating member faces the surface of the developer carrier and regulating the thickness of the developer passing through between the surface of the developer carrier and the regulating end surface; a heat release member for cooling the developer-regulating member; and a heat transfer member for transferring heat from the developer regulating member to the heat release member. The developer-regulating member is provided separately and is independent of the heat release member, and the heat transfer member is held between the developer regulating member and the heat-releasing member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
