<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber material for reinforcing a belt, including a polyethylene naphthalate fiber providing excellent fatigue resistance and quietness at use, and to provide the belt employing it. <P>SOLUTION: The fiber material for reinforcing the belt is composed of a fiber including the polyethylene naphthalate fiber. The polyethylene naphthalate fiber has of a crystal volume obtained by X-ray wide-angle diffraction of the polyethylene naphthalate fiber of 550-1,200 nm<SP>3</SP>, and of a crystallinity of 30-60%. Preferably, the maximum peak diffraction angle at the X-ray wide angle diffraction of the polyethylene naphthalate fiber is 25.5-27.0, and the energyΔHcd of an exothermic peak of the polyethylene naphthalate fiber under 10°C/min temperature-lowering condition in nitrogen gas flow is 15-50 J/g. The fiber material for reinforcing the belt is preferably a twisted fiber cord, and the fiber material for reinforcing the belt is preferably a woven fabric wherein the warp yarns are yarns comprising the polyethylene naphthalate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
