<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive mechanism for a magnetically-driven microtool that can accurately control the movements of the magnetically-driven microtool, and to provide a microdevice. <P>SOLUTION: The drive mechanism has a magnetism-generating body 21 comprising an electromagnet. The magnetism-generating body 21 is configured so as to apply AC current to the electromagnet, periodically reversing the polarity, and to cause the magnetism to act on the magnetically-driven microtool 12, which is magnetic. The electromagnet may have a protruding section 21a that is formed on at least one end of the core, protrudes from the end of the coil, and is formed in a tube or cylinder in the lengthwise direction of the core. Also, the electromagnet may have a thin film 22 comprising a material having a high magnetic permeability disposed between the magnetism-generating body 21 and the magnetically-driven microtool 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
