PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for preventing a double feed of paper sheets which has a superior effect of preventing a squeak such that abnormal noise is emitted therefrom caused by the fluttering vibration thereof due to the friction thereof on a paper feed roller or paper sheets. SOLUTION: This member 4 for preventing a double feed of paper sheets is configured so that at least the contact surface 5 thereof in contact with the paper sheets is formed of an elastomer such as rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, or the like, and treated by electron irradiation.
