<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallax barrier that properly displays a stereoscopic image. <P>SOLUTION: The parallax barrier 5A is used in combination with a display means 4 having a plurality of pixels 4R and 4L, and separates an right-eye image and a left-eye image displayed on the display means 4. The parallax barrier 5A includes a barrier substrate 51 on which a plurality of apertures 53 to allow light to pass, and a plurality of light shielding parts 52 configured to block the light are alternately arranged at least in one direction. The plurality of apertures 53 are arranged at equal pitches larger than an ideal value specified based on the pixel pitch of the display means 4.
