NEUTRON BEAM SHIELDING STRUCTURE AND ROOM EQUIPPED WITH RADIATION SOURCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron beam shielding structure which can reduce the volume of radioactive waste and can decrease costs for disposal of the waste in the demolition of a building including a room equipped with a radiation source. SOLUTION: The neutron beam shielding structure 1 used for wall structural members and/or ceiling structural members of the room equipped with the radiation source 2 includes a concrete section 3 at one side which is located at the side closer to the radiation source 2, a concrete section 4 at the other side which is located farther from the radiation source than the concrete section 3 at one side and is opposite to the concrete section 3, and a boron-containing sheet 5 placed so as to be sandwiched between the concrete section 3 at the one side and the concrete section 4 at the other side.
