PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator enabling improvement in flexibility of disposition of ion generating elements without being affected by a magnetic field caused by step-up transformers, and to provide an electric apparatus using it. SOLUTION: Transformer driving circuits are connected to the primary windings of step-up transformers 131, 231, and two or more sets of ion generating elements are connected to the secondary windings of the step-up transformers 131, 231 with the ion generating elements 11, 12, 23 24 for generating positive ions and the ion generating elements 13, 14, 21, 22 for generating negative ions used as one set.
