PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding type tripod constant velocity joint of a needle circulation type achieving a slide stopper structure avoiding deformation of a needle unit. SOLUTION: The sliding type tripod constant velocity joint includes: an outer ring 10 formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape and having three raceway grooves 16 in the inner peripheral face; a tripod 20 equipped with three tripod shaft portions 22 inserted in the raceway grooves 16; and the needle unit 30 provided rockably to the tripod shaft portions 22 and rolling along the side faces of the raceway grooves 16. The outer ring 10 has stopper portions 13, 14 for regulating movement of the needle unit 30 to an outer ring bottom 10a side at positions where the needle unit 30 does not contact with an outer ring bottom 10a. The stopper portions 13, 14 are formed of tapered faces provided at ends on the outer ring bottom 10a side of raceway recesses 17, 18 and tapered to approach shaft-like rolling elements 50 according as advancing toward the outer ring bottom 10a side.
