PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane filtration system capable of saving the energy of the system. SOLUTION: The membrane filtration system includes: membrane modules 51, 52 provided with a filtration membrane 6 to which a hole diameter adjusting material is added; a treatment water tank 7 to which treatment water treated by the membrane module is sent; a backwashing supply line L5 provided from the treatment water tank to the membrane module; a backwashing pump 9 provided in the backwashing supply line; a heating means 8 provided in the backwashing supply line; a backwashing discharge line L6 for discharging hot water used for backwashing from the membrane module; heating medium circulation lines L8 and L9 for circulating and distributing a heating medium for heating raw water to be filtered by the filtration membrane in the membrane module; and a heat exchanger 10 which is provided with a first flow path 10a communicated with the backwashing discharge line and a second flow path 10b communicated with the heating medium circulation line, and exchanges heat between the hot water used for backwashing and flowing through the first flow path and the heating medium flowing through the second flow path.
