The device has an emergency operation shifting unit (10) for hydraulic and/or pneumatic actuation of a transmission shifting unit. The transmission shifting unit shifts a normal operation mode and an emergency operation mode. An active shifting module (14) shifts the emergency operation shifting unit into a normal operation shifting position that is associated with the normal operation mode. A passive shifting module (11) automatically shifts the emergency operation shifting unit into an operating state in the normal operation shifting position. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing a transmission shifting device.
