PURPOSE: A system and a method for paying and calculating a compatible traffic card are provided to prevent overlapped investment about a traffic card system which is differently established by enabling a card issuing provider and a card payment target to calculate and interconvert a payment history. CONSTITUTION: A card terminal comprises as follows. A processor(10) transcevies electronic payment-related processing data. The processor performs direction transaction process according to a corresponding identification traffic card. A charge terminal controlling interface unit(20) communicates with a traffic card by a RS-232 method and displays an operation state. A contact card interface unit(30) controls an existing card and a nationwide compatible card.
