<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and electronic equipment in which deterioration in a liquid crystal material is suppressed and the lowering of transmittance is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 includes an upper substrate 36, a lower substrate 30 disposed facing the upper substrate 35, a liquid crystal layer 35 held between the upper substrate 36 and the lower substrate 30, and a backlight 40 for irradiating the liquid crystal layer 35 with light from the outside of the lower substrate 30. For the transmittance of a specific wavelength having a peak in a region shorter than the wavelength of blue in the visible light region of the light emitted from the backlight 40, the transmittance of light transmitted from the lower substrate 30 to the liquid crystal layer 35 is lower than the transmittance of light transmitted from the upper substrate 36 to the liquid crystal layer 35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
