PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system in which assist force can be stably and continuously provided while restraining generation of excessive assist at alternative assist control when a torque sensor is abnormal.
SOLUTION: A microcomputer (a self-steer restraining control part) determines whether so-called self-steer where steering precedes steering operation by the excessive assist is generated, and when the self-steer is generated, a restraining gain Kslf is calculated as "0" to stop providing the assist force to a steering system. In advance of determination of the self-steer and calculation of the restraining gain Kslf, the microcomputer also determines whether a condition of the steering operation (a steering condition) is on a "returning" condition. When the condition is determined as the returning condition (step 102:NO or step 103:NO), the restraining gain Kslf is calculated to stop providing the assist force (Kslf=0, step 104) regardless of whether the self-steer is generated.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
|
