PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function test method of an electronic control device for a vehicle capable of shortening a time required for a function test. SOLUTION: A test machine 4 transmits one command for instructing classification of a plurality of inspection items into each system and execution of the classified inspection items to the electronic control device 2 for the vehicle in each system. The electronic control device 2 for the vehicle executes function tests following the command transmitted from the test machine 4, and transmits the execution result of the function tests to the test machine 4. The test machine 4 determines the quality of the function of the electronic control device 2 for the vehicle based on the execution result of the function tests transmitted from the electronic control device 2 for the vehicle.
