PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embed or flatten a nano-order pattern formed on a substrate of a hard disk, and to provide a polysiloxane composition used as a nonmagnetic body. SOLUTION: A film-forming composition for hard disk contains a phenylsilsesquioxane. The phenylsilsesquioxane is a hydrolysis-condensation product of a hydrolyzable silane represented by formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>is an alkoxy group, an acyloxy group or a halogen group, and R<SP>2</SP>is an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or a phenyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 10.
