PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system of a flexible configuration capable of preventing the loop of a frame when a fault does not occur, and performing securement of a detour path and high-speed path changeover when detecting a fault. SOLUTION: A plurality of unit systems each including two switching hubs and two path changeover devices each monitoring and controlling the corresponding switching hub are connected in a single line form. Detection of a fault and the path changeover of a user frame are autonomously executed for every part of two unit systems facing each other under the control of the path changeover device.
