摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus by which image misalignment is eliminated and transfer efficiency is improved even when using a liquid developer which is superior in peelability of a transfer material and is pulverized. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, a latent image is formed on a latent image carrier and is developed by a liquid developer which has a glass transition point of≥50°C and includes resin particles having a volume particle size of 1 to 3μm and a carrier liquid, and an image resulting from development of the latent image is transferred to a transfer belt which has at least three layers of a base layer, an elastic layer, and a surface layer and of which the indentation hardness for indentation to a depth of 3μm from the surface layer side is 0.1 to 2.0 MPa when measured from the surface layer side by a nanoindenter, and the image transferred to the transfer belt is transferred to the transfer material by a transfer nip part formed by pressure contact between a transfer roller and a roller with the transfer belt and the transfer material therebetween.
