PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vinylidene fluoride polymer having excellent resistance to acid discoloration as well as favorable initial discoloration through stable suspension polymerization. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the vinylidene fluoride polymer, a polyethylene glycol/polypropylene glycol-block copolymer whose ethylene oxide content is 75-85 wt.% is used as a suspending agent when performing suspension polymerization by dispersing a monomer including vinylidene fluoride as a main component into an aqueous medium including the suspending agent.
