The present invention relates to modulators of the Neuregulin (NRG) family, particularly NRG1 and more particularly NRG1&bgr;, and most particularly NRG1&bgr;1. The present invention also relates to the use of such modulators to inhibit goblet cell hyperplasia and therefore also relates to the use of such modulators in the treatment or prevention of human diseases and disorders featuring pathological mucus production such as COPD, CF, chronic bronchitis and asthma.
