<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system for providing an image displayed on a screen and also providing visual effect to a user. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system can receive a signal from a display control device displaying the image on a display screen. The lighting system includes a receiving means and a light projecting means. The receiving means receives a control signal from the display control device. The light projecting means emits a plurality of visible light each having an elongated cross section in accordance with the control signal received by the receiving means.
