PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering properties of a liquid crystal that includes a step of removing trapped water. SOLUTION: The primary cause of degradation of the liquid crystal is the presence of the trapped water within the liquid crystal, and the properties of the degraded liquid crystal can be recovered by removing the water from the degraded liquid crystal.
