PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinball game machine which does not give a feeling of strangeness in an advance-notice performance by a main controller properly determining a performance category, in the pinball machine in which a sub controller determines execution of the successive advance notices when receiving the results of the determination on the performance category which is determined in a read-ahead determination (determination on winning a prize) when winning a starter prize while enabling alteration of a variation-pattern selection table at a time other than the time when the game state changes. SOLUTION: In the determination on the performance category serving as the read-ahead determination performed when the starter prize winning is processed, a value of a switch counter or a value of a time shortening counter at the determination time is compared with a value of a reservation memory counter. When both the values are the same or the value of the reservation memory counter is larger in the results of the comparison, the variation pattern selection table for determining the performance category is set and the determination on the performance category is executed using the set contents.
