The present invention provides a method, device and terminal for obtaining the terminal identifier, the method includes configuring the corresponding relation information between the traditional user identifier and the access ?dentifier(AID) of the terminal in the communication system, the AID is the unique identifier assigned to the terminal user by the communication system, the traditional user identifier is within the signaling sent to the communication system when the terminal is accessing to the communication system, the communication system obtains the traditional user identifier from the signaling, finds the AID corresponding to the traditional user identifier from the corresponding relation information, and sends the AID back to the terminal, the method might also includes configuring the AID of the terminal in the user identifier distinguishing module of the terminal, or configuring the AID in the terminal protocol stack by entering the static address. The present invention can separate the location and identity of the terminal in the packet domain network under the premise of the minimum change or no affection to the traditional terminal.
