The heat exchanger (1) has tub-shaped heat exchanger plates (2a-2e) stacked on each other and comprising openings for separate fluids e.g. coolant and oil. The heat exchanger plates have a set of toroidal shapes arranged around the openings, and are sealingly soldered with each other at the toroidal shapes and at an outer edge by a joining technique. Another set of toroidal shapes partially extending around the openings is provided at one of the openings, and is sealingly soldered with the adjacent heat exchanger plates by the joining technique.
