<p>A method and system for pushing video and data content to implement local on-demand are disclosed in the present invention. The method includes that: a load part in Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) data packet encapsulation format is pre-set, wherein the load part includes segment description and file data segments; a server side loads the data in a to-be-pushed file into said file data segments, loads the description information of the to-be-pushed file into said segment description, and encapsulates them into more than one PES data packet; the server side forms transmission streams by using the PES data packets, modulates and outputs the transmission streams; a set-top box side demodulates the received transmission streams; the set-top box side parses the data in the to-be-pushed file from said file data segments by using said segment description, and stores the parsed data to a local storage device. Said method can support the push of the data in an arbitrary format, enables the set-top box side to parse at a fast rate. The method is easy to implement, and has a low requirement on the hardware configuration of the set-top box side.</p> |
