PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip type ceramic electronic component having necessary electrostatic characteristics and manufactured in a normal manufacturing process and securing a free hand on design of an internal electrode. SOLUTION: An NTC thermistor has: a ceramic element body 10; the internal electrodes 15, 16 arranged inside the ceramic element body and facing each other; external electrodes electrically connected with respective internal electrodes 15, 16; and discharge electrodes 23 which are pulled out to a side face of the ceramic element body 10 and are electrically independent from the internal electrodes 15, 16 and the external electrodes.
