PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller that lengthens an effective use period of a built-in primary battery, and includes an alternative use mechanism of a general-purpose battery. SOLUTION: When using the general-purpose battery 33, a slider switch 20a connects a terminal (a) to a terminal (b) and connects a terminal (d) to a terminal (e) in a change-over switch 20 that the remote controller includes. In a microcomputer 30, the terminal (d) is connected to the terminal (e), thus supplying power from the general-purpose battery 33. In this case, the terminal (a) is connected to the terminal (b), thus preventing a solar cell 12 from being connected to the microcomputer 30, and preventing connection of a terminal (f) and hence also preventing a lithium primary battery 32 from being connected to the microcomputer 30.
