PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding type tripod constant velocity joint of a needle circulation type improving seizure resistance at contacts between intermediate members and tripod shaft portions. SOLUTION: The sliding type tripod constant velocity joint includes: an outer ring 10 having three raceway grooves 16 in the inner peripheral face; the tripod 20 having the three tripod shaft portions 22 inserted in the raceway grooves 16; the intermediate members 40 provided rockably around the outer peripheries of the tripod shaft portions 22; a plurality of shaft-like rolling elements 50 provided between the side faces of the raceway grooves 16 and the intermediate members 40 for rolling along the side faces of the raceway grooves 16; and cages 60 supporting the shaft-like rolling elements 50 so that the shaft-like rolling elements 50 can circulate around the outer peripheries of the intermediate members 40. An axial cross-sectional shape of the outer peripheral face of the tripod shaft portion 22 is formed in a convex curve convexed toward an inner power transmission face 43a of the intermediate member 40 and, in the inner power transmission face 43a, a cross-sectional shape in the axial direction of the tripod shaft portion 22 at the joint angle of 0° is formed in a straight shape.
