A drug management apparatus is provided with: a drug storage cabinet (11); a tag detection unit (14) for detecting worker information and worker locations in order to identify workers, said tag detection unit (14) detecting the worker information and worker locations of workers present in a first work area, and the worker information and worker locations of workers present in a second work area; a management unit (22) for determining on the basis of the detection results of the tag detection unit (14) whether or not a plurality of workers permitted to use the drug storage cabinet (11) are present in the combined area of the first work area and the second work area, and whether or not at least one of the plurality of workers fulfils the unlocking condition of being present in the first work area, when the lock of the drug storage cabinet (11) is locked; and a locking unit (13) for permitting the lock of the drug storage cabinet (11) to be unlocked when it is determined that the unlocking condition of the management unit (22) has been satisfied.
