APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SAFETY CONTROLLING WHEN RADIATOR FLAP'S FAIL

PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling the fail safety of a radiator flap are provided to improve the fuel efficiency of a vehicle by diagnosing the trouble of an actuator and a sensor and controlling a radiator flap. CONSTITUTION: A device controlling the fail safety of a radiator flap comprises a sensor part(10), a control part(20), and a drive part(30). The sensor part obtains the traveling information of a vehicle and the temperature information of main components. The sensor part comprises one or more of an APS sensor(101), a speed sensor, a cooling water temperature sensor, a component temperature sensor(15), an external temperature sensor(16), and a flap position sensor. The control part receives the traveling information of the vehicle and the temperature information of the main components from the sensor part. And the control part diagnoses the failure of the sensors and an actuator and controls the operation of a radiator flap(11). The drive part receives a control signal from the control part and operates the radiator flap.
