<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head device which stably performs recording/reproduction of an optical disk which is high in utilization efficiency of light in condensing to the optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: Loss of light condensing to an optical disk is suppressed, and further stable recording/reproduction of an optical disk are achieved by providing the optical head device which branches at least two types of light which differ in wavelength and are emitted from a light source 11 by a beam splitter 13 in a direction of the optical disk 17, and a direction of a monitoring photodetector 14, and includes a wire grid type polarizer 20 with which transmittance of the direction of light of specific linear polarization becomes 90% or more in an optical path between the light source 11 and the beam splitter 13 and/or in the optical path between the beam splitter 13 and the monitoring photodetector 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
